Residuos plásticos impiden el drenaje de agua en Las Tunas.
La acumulación de basura plástica en las calles, junto con el agua de lluvia y el lodo resultante de las precipitaciones, se ha convertido en uno de los problemas latentes en la comuna Las Tunas del cantón Puerto López. Esta situación que aumenta progresivamente, ha captado la atención de sus residentes quienes piden ayuda a las autoridades locales para evitar que esto empeore. Drenajes sellados por lodo
En esta última semana, el consumo desmedido de productos de un solo uso y la falta de una adecuada gestión de residuos han llevado a que en las calles predomine basura plástica todo el tiempo. “Esto no es algo tan nuevo. Es una problemática que se ha venido trabajando, pero es complicado resolverlo ya que la gente no apoya a la causa, se piensa en proyectos de reciclaje a futuro, pero por problemas de las lluvias se ha extendido este proceso”, aseveró Evelyn Bayas, miembro de la comuna Las Tunas.
La situación se agrava aún más durante la temporada de lluvias. Las calles mal drenadas y la falta de sistemas de canalización adecuados provocan la acumulación de agua pluvial en las zonas bajas de la comuna. Este exceso de agua arrastra consigo la basura plástica, creando una mezcla preocupante de desperdicios y lodo que obstruye los desagües y dificulta la movilidad peatonal y vehicular.
Así mismo otro ciudadano, Alfredo Ponce, denota su interés por tratar de buscar alguna alternativa que permita dar solución a esta problemática. “Estamos a la espera de que la comuna empiece con los proyectos de limpieza en las calles, solo de esta manera se puede aportar significativamente ya que así mantendríamos nuestras calles en mejores condiciones, calles más pulcras y limpias”, resaltó.
Las autoridades aún no dan a conocer las posibles alternativas aplicables en este tipo de altercados. La comunidad se mantiene a la expectativa, esperando que se adopten prácticas responsables en el manejo de los residuos. Así mismo se aplique una sanción que permita denunciar cualquier situación de acumulación de basura evitando así futuros problemas en el sistema de drenaje en épocas invernales. También se espera que, con el esfuerzo conjunto de todos los actores involucrados, se logre revertir esta problemática y se restaure la limpieza y el bienestar en las calles de Las Tunas.
