En la ciudad de Manta una considerable cantidad de mujeres sufren a diario acoso e intimidación en los transportes públicos como buses y taxis. Las dos líneas de buses con más pasajeros son la número 8 y número 14, donde se muestran más casos de acoso hacia las mujeres por parte de los chóferes de bus, así como de los mismos pasajeros.
“El señor chófer del bus al entregarme el cambio se quedaba ahí entregándome el dinero y a la vez tocándome la mano”, manifestó Marlene Muñoz, pasajera de la línea 14.
Las pasajeras de los diferentes transportes públicos de Manta se sienten acosadas no sólo en buses, sino que también en los taxis, pues ciertos chóferes demuestran su falta de respeto hacia ellas.
Viviana Macías nos comenta que no utiliza este tipo de transportes pues le genera cierta desconfianza los chóferes de los buses y así mismo de los taxis, ha escuchado muchos casos donde los taxistas se han querido propasar con las clientas. “Ciertos taxistas piden nuestros números y considero que esto ya no es parte de su trabajo y obvio lo hacen con un doble sentido”, señaló Macías.
Se pide reflexionar acerca de este tipo de violencia y hacer la respectiva denuncia a las autoridades para que paren estos actos de acoso e intimidación a la mujer.
