El consumo de drogas es un tema que se ha diseminado por todo el mundo. En Ecuador, los últimos años el tráfico y microtráfico de drogas ha aumentado significativamente el consumo ilícito de sustancias estupefacientes y psicotrópicas en las personas. Allí es donde entra una “solución” a este problema, odiada por algunos y amadas por otros, la tabla de Drogas. Una ley que intenta frenar la maratón de drogadictos en el país, aunque actualmente los resultados no fueron los esperados.
En 2013, el extinto Consejo Nacional de Sustancias Estupefacientes y Psicotrópicos (CONSEP) dirigida por el expresidente Rafael Correa, propuso una ley para ayudar a diferenciar un consumidor de un traficante. La tabla de drogas indicaría la cantidad en gramos que podía cargar una persona. Donde según ellos, la disminución de adictos estaría asegurada, cosa que actualmente sigue en constante ¿debate?, si te detienen por tenencia de drogas, el acusado debe someterse a una prueba psicotrópica para determinar que solo eres consumidor, dicha acción hace que el apresado no sea encarcelado y tenga cargos menores. Una ley que te ayuda a esquivar la bala de la responsabilidad. Desde el 2021, en época de COVID-19 hubo un disparo de 19 muertes diarias por consumo de drogas, entre las cuales una de cada 10 eran personas de 18 a 69 años, tres de cada 10 eran adolescentes de entre 13 y 15 años, datos obtenidos del Ministerio de Salud Pública, afirmarían la falla de este sistema.
En nuestro país el consumo de drogas en adolescentes es algo “común” para las personas, no obstante, las consecuencias que trae consigo son alarmantes. Profesionales en este tema han probado que un consumidor pasivo (alguien que solo inhala el humo) tiene un 30% de posibilidades de tener cáncer. Algo que afecta negativamente a los niños y niñas, el grupo más vulnerable.
La tabla de drogas es un hecho que ha estado en boca de todos por los últimos meses desde que el ganador a la presidencia Daniel Noboa, compartió eliminar dicha tabla en su enfrentamiento contra su oponente Luisa Gonzáles, quien la defendía.
Pienso que esta ley es necesaria para tener una menor sobrepoblación en las cárceles del país, ayudando solo a los consumidores en su duro camino a la rehabilitación, por otro lado, el aumento es muy notable hoy en día. No hay que eliminarla, más bien habría que cambiar de una mejor manera su estructura, pues al final de todo si ha ayudado a solventar personas hundidas en los oscuros mundos de la adicción.
