Este 21 de noviembre, el local de comida Rico Ice, ubicada en la primera entrada de la Uleam, abrió sus puertas a las personas para que puedan ver el partido, donde la selección ecuatoriana se enfrentó a Chile por las eliminatorias al mundial 2026, encuentro que se desarrolló en la capital Quito, en el estadio Rodrigo Paz Delgado.
El partido empezó con poco movimiento por parte de los dos equipos, pero al minuto 20’, una jugada que empezó el joven de 17 años Kendry Páez llevándose a todos los jugadores de la selección chilena pudo terminar en gol, debido a un rebote del arquero que lograría anotar Ángel Mena.
Después del gol, el partido se paralizó y Ecuador buscó mantener el esférico y no cedérselo a Chile, así hasta el segundo tiempo, donde la selección chilena empezaría con mucha presión y logrando hacer algunos ataques a la portería del equipo contrario. Ecuador consiguió salir ileso de los ataques y siguió dominando todo el encuentro, así ganando 1-0.
Steven Almendariz, estudiante de la Uleam, expresó su felicidad por como “La tri” jugó este partido, elogiando a los jugadores y al director técnico por la manera que se enfrentaron a una selección tan grande como lo es Chile. “Si juegan como lo hicieron hoy contra Chile, estoy seguro de que podremos pasar al mundial de manera muy fácil”, agregó Almendariz.
“Aunque ganaron, en la delantera falta pulir algunas cosas, pudieron acabar el partido con más goles, pero erraron mucho, espero que mejoren y el próximo partido ganar de mejor manera”, expresó Juan Mendoza, espectador.
Los aficionados reunidos en Rico Ice, pudieron tener una noche llena de emociones. Con esta victoria Ecuador se consagró en la quinta posición, mientras que Chile se mantiene en la octava posición.
